As Senior Vice President, Matthew is the newly appointed Head of Asset Management for McCarthy Cook & Co. (“MCC”) responsible for all project operations and property teams. He works directly with MCC’s COO and CFO and two Co-Presidents. Since joining MCC in 2004, Matthew has held a variety of senior positions within the firm. Starting as a financial analyst focused on acquisitions, Matthew spent roughly 10 years leading all asset management, leasing, property management, financing and disposition efforts for the firm’s 1 million square foot Phoenix office portfolio. During this time, Matthew led the successful repositioning of three Class A office campuses including major capital projects totaling over $29 million, negotiated and executed over 1 million square feet of leases, completed four institutional financings and ran three successful disposition processes. Most recently, Matthew co-led McCarthy Cook’s acquisitions efforts in the western US. In addition to his direct asset management responsibilities, Matthew continues to contribute to the firm’s acquisition efforts, asset management assignments and market research analyses.
Matthew graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2004. He is a member of ULI and a frequent volunteer for Junior Achievement in Los Angeles schools. He is based in McCarthy Cook’s headquarters office in Orange County.
